The basics
- Rifts can be challenged solo or in duos. Each team starts from one end of the arena and battles their way to the middle.
-
There is a chance another player (or duo) will enter the same rift as you. If that’s the case, you will have to fight each other for the rewards
-
You will face various creatures to get to the center of the arena
-
Dying on a rift will immediately take you back to the safe zone and not grant any rewards
-
At the center, you will need to face the Aether Rift Boss
- If you’re successful in beating the Rift, you may choose collecting your reward or going to another rift
- A full Aether Rift cycle has three Rifts, each increasing in difficulty and rewards
Getting Aether Rift charges
- Finishing Aether Stones grants 100% chance of dropping an Aether Rift charge. However, finishing Aether Stones in sequence will reduce that chance (The drop rate for Aether Stones resets at random times)
- Completing ‣ Adventurer’s Board quests
- Drop chance from ‣ Aether Echoes
Entering the Aether Rifts
- Create your Aether Rift build on the ‣ Skill Tree (K) menu
- Choose whether you’d like to play solo or in a duo
- If you’re playing in duos, you need to be in a party with your duo and both of you need to have an Aether Rift charge
- Go to a safe zone (Waypoints or any part of Ravencrest)
- Check your ‣ Inventory (Quest tab) to see if you have any Aether Rift charges
- You can also check if you have charges by clicking the ‣Aether Rift on your game bar or pressing Z
- Right-click the charge to open the Aether Rift interface
